The goal of the museum is not just to wow the audience with photos of fantastic woodworking from around the world, but to inspire fellow woodworkers to reach for new heights in their own woodworking field of endeavor. Though we always think we are the most 'advanced ' civilization that has ever existed, we only have to look back two centuries to see works of art far above what most of us are capable of doing today. Therefore, we are humbled, wowed, AND inspired.

Another raison d'être for the museum is to encourage travel to various real life museums, palaces, and castles that house some of this incredible wood art, usually found in far off places around the world. Most of us will never see 99% of the woodworking shown in this virtual museum, but sometimes, when we finally make that trip to Paris, Milan, Bangkok, or St. Petersburg, we'll know in advance a few places to visit where we'll find those masterpieces that leave us breathless.
